Trends that should die already
Disclaimer N1! This is my personal opinion and I by no means think that it's the only right one.

Okey-dokey. Today I'm finally going to put to paper what has been boiling in my mind for quite a while now. These are the items of clothing and shoes, and makeup trends that I feel should go down in history of fashion as mistakes or, to put it more nicely, unsuccessful experiments.
So, starting from shoes, bags and clothes, and gracefully gliding to makeup and accessories.
1. Ugly, chunky sneakers.
Balenciaga, in particular, is initially a brand that I try to avoid(?) at all costs. Unfortunately for me, these "beauties" somehow made it into the "wild" and are roaming the streets and for some mysterious reason are considered stylish and started a trend - first among high end brands, then in the mass market. Thankfully, the mass market remained loyal to its habit of sparing material and the knockoff sneakers are not as "chunky" as the originals.
2. Weird/geometric heels
Let's just leave those for fashion magazines and pictorials. Please.
3. Slide sandals
Ladies, can we just stop? Slides were made to be worn at the beach... or at home. Don't bring them onto the streets. And before someone jumps at me with the "comfy" argument, and extra strap won't kill you 🤷
Thankfully, the dad sandal trend, that was booming two years ago, died off nearly as quickly as it started. So, I hope this one will follow the same track.
4. Pointy shoes on kitten heels
I admit, I am biased against both styles individually, but I don't mind them, if they are executed tastefully. The combo of those on the other hand is... dreadful. No one looks good in those, full-stop. The only person whom they would suit would be someone with heavenly long legs, but small feet. An unlikely combination, right?
A short notice on pointy shoes. They were originally "in" in the times when women wore long dresses that hid their legs and only the tips of the shoes were visible. Then the tips of the pointy shoes would create an illusion of tiny feet. Today, however, the shoes have the opposite effect.
Now, I agree that slightly pointy shoes look very elegant, especially in an evening setting. But the ones that add an extra inch (or more) to the length the feet, compliment no one (well, excluding the mystical humanoid described above).
5. Basket bags
Basket bags have been creeping into fashion for several years now and, frankly, I don't mind most of them. What I don't like are literal baskets passed as bags - the ones above. I'm truly wondering, whether they are practical and useful in daily life. The way I see it - they would be great for grocery shopping or going to a picnic. But to carry around all day? Not so sure.
6. Flared pants with slits
I thought we agreed that the 90s' are not a good look and should be left to smolder in fashion hell... Oh, well...
7. Leather pants/leggings
Look, leather pants are great! But there were so overworn the last time they were around, i.e. 5-6 years ago, that I think I'm back in 2013-2014 every time I see a pair.
They've had their heyday. Let them "rest" for a century or so and then bring them back with fanfares and glory.
8. Camisoles over tees
90s... again. I'll never understand how we thought this was a look back then and how the agreed to bring it back.
Thankfully, it IS dying already, but thanks to the late blooming Instagram "influencers" and a bunch of people who are desperate to wear these to holes, the trend is clinging on.
9. "Instagram makeup"
A prime example of the "Rudolf's nose"
Just your usual highlighter overdose
Someone call a doctor...
Ok, I take that back, THIS is highlighter overdose.
Classic examples of overdrawn lips
This broad category includes a handful of trends and makeup techniques, e.g. the overdrawn lips especially in "earthy"/brown tones, ombre eyebrows, overuse of highlighter with the infamous shiny "Rudolf nose" etc.
First of all, whose genius idea was it to start putting on lipstick shades that make one look like they have serious health issues (e.g. heart failure, pink eye, sever allergic reaction etc.)? Nvm, I know who's the culprit... She also happens to be the starter of the overdrawing trend.
Of course, a bit of overdrawing to balance out the shape and fullness of lips is ok and is a classic technique, but, girl, reaching the midpoint of your philtrum or even higher is a bit... too much.
10. Animal prints
I know. It will never die. Animal prints are an exception among trends - they never really go out of fashion. Even if they are out, blink, they are back!
Now, I have nearly nothing against snake skin, giraffes and zebras. They go in and out of fashion like any other pattern.
Big cats, on the other hand, are "immortal". In my honest opinion, they can look presentable in small doses and as accessories, but even then it's too easy to go overboard.
So, animal prints are steroids - gotta prescribe with great caution
11. Pearl hair clips
I'm not gonna say much about this ridiculousness.
Huge hairpins are for 3-years-olds, so let's let them have it.
Moreover, huge, fake pearls don't add much to the overall look, other that cheapening it. So, let's peacefully say bye-bye to this joke of a trend.
K, that's it for today's post. I hope at least someone found it useful 😅😄 If not, I hope, you're not waiting for me with torches and pitchforks 😂
See ya next time~
