Trend predictions for the upcoming season

Disclaimer! I don't own any of the photos. Credits to owners and google search with pinterest 😁

Before I get to the actual list, let me shortly complain about the terminology, used to describe trends. One of things that always irritated me as a person interested in fashion, was the said terminology found in fashion magazines; because, when checking a fashion magazine, you'll encounter "floral prints, animal prints, leather, bold colours" etc over and over again. By looking at the titles only, one could think that fashion and trends don't really change over the years, which is true in a way but not in this context.
Here's the catch. The name of the print/trend remains the same. What changes is the size, colour and the type of the pattern of the said print. For example, there're hundreds of floral prints alone and usually only one or two of those are trending at a time. The same is also true about animal and any other prints.
Thus, in my opinion, what  should be highlighted is at least the precise "sub-type" of a pattern and not its collective name. I hope what I wrote made sense 😅😄

Ok, now that the clarification is out of the way, let's move on to the actual trends!

1. Ditsy floral print

I confess, I finally found out the name of this tiny floral print today. I tended to  associate it with Italy and Italian fashion, but during the last couple of years they made their way into mainstream fashion. I admit, this is one of those patterns that are deemed "hideous" when out of style; but as long as they're "in", I'll enjoy it and I advice the same to you 😉

2. Leather EVERYTHING.

Leather shirts, leather pants, jackets, dresses - literally everything. This trend was steadily and confidently making its way to the racks. I, personally, noticed celebrities wearing all leather and collections full of leather pieces back in 2017 or somewhere around that time (may be even 2016-ish), but back then those looked "too much" and "two early". Look at them now! Finally spreading everywhere!

3. Midi and knee-length over mini

This one is not really new. The hem has been slowly getting longer for quite a while, but now those have overthrown mini for good, I'd like to say. Of course, mini would never go completely out of fashion, but for now, it will be dominated by longer styles.

4. Short puffers

Well, we gotta maintain that short-long balance 😉😁 hems longer, puffers shorter.
I'd like to add, that for the upcoming season matte textures and solid colours will be "in" for outwear, but as time and seasons go by, shine and "parrots" will be back. But for now - solid and matte.

5. Bold, solid colours for eyeshadow

This one also has been "testing waters" for the past year and half. This season, I think, bold eyeshadows will finally go mainstream. To be completely honest, it's not really a wearable look for most, but it can be ( and most likely will be) minimized to a bold eyeliner, which is also a very fresh look after years of browns and brick colours.

6. Shine and shimmer makeup

Yup, bold colours are not the only eyeshadow trend happening this season. Shimmer is back and very welcome! S/N but let's not overdo it 🙏🙏
The reign of dry, matte, desert (in both colour and texture) makeup is finally coming to an end! So, let's embrace the natural, dewy skin and healthy, glossy, rosy lips!

Well, these are the trends that I noticed/felt coming fir the upcoming season(s).
If I'm not too lazy, I'd like to make another post in a year or so, about checking if my predictions were right or not 😁 Let's hope I don't forget or get too lazy 😊😃

That's it for today's post.
See ya~
